A Brief Overview:

The Abruña group performs cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research on a wide variety of electrochemical phenomena. We employ standard electrochemical probes on chemical systems ranging from light-emitting devices (LEDs) to fuel cells to molecular electronics, and employ other techniques including x-ray methods, scanned probe microscopies (STM, AFM, SECM), nanoscale fabrication, low temperature conductance and a variety of spectroscopic techniques to address problems of electrochemical interest. We synthesize novel inorganic complexes, tailored ligands, and organic electroactive species to drive discovery of new chemical and electrochemical properties.
